Obituary of Thomas F. McTighe
Thomas F. McTighe, 79, of Edison, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. Mr. McTighe was born in Newark to the late John C. and Irene (Cunnane) McTighe and had lived all of his life in Edison.
Mr. McTighe was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam war. He was employed as a production set up man with the Gulton Industries, Metuchen for thirty seven years before retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords and the American Legion Post 471 Iselin, NJ.
Thomas is predeceased by two brothers, Norman McTighe and John McTighe and a sister Dolores Karlin Royale.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years Magdalene (Gill) McTighe, his two brothers, Dennis McTighe of Old Bridge and Gary McTighe of Brielle and one sister, Shirley Devlin of Manasquan.
Funeral services will be held Friday 10:00 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave. in Fords. Followed by a 10:30 am mass in the Our Lady of Peace Church also in Fords. Interment will follow privately. Visitation hours will be held Thursday evening from 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Edison Animal Shelter, 125 Municipal Blvd. Edison, NJ 08817.
