Obituary of Gloria K. Saporito
Gloria K. Saporito of Fords, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. Mrs. Saporito was born in Perth Amboy to the late Arthur and Helen Martin and had lived most of her life in Fords.
Gloria was a devoted wife and mother and had worked for various companies throughout her life, including RCA, Revlon and Pathmark. Most recently she was employed as an aide for the Perth Amboy Board of Education before her retirement.
She was a member of the Good Shepherd Parish- Holy Rosary Church in Hopelawn. Gloria was a long time member of the Holy Rosary Choir.
She had a lifelong passion for all aspects of music. She was a wonderful baker and cake decorator, her beautiful creations will be fondly remembered by many. Gloria greatly loved crafting. She enjoyed pysanky (Ukrainian egg decorating) and crocheting.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Andrew J. Saporito in 2007, and also by her sister Florence Geraghty.
Surviving are her three sons: Andrew C. Saporito and wife Kathleen of Fords, Gary T. Saporito of East Brunswick and Chris A. Saporito of Fords, her sister Bernice L. Strock of Belmar, and her two grandsons, Andrew J. and Thomas P. Saporito.
Funeral services will be held Monday 8:30 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Followed by a 9:30 am mass in the Holy Rosary Church in Hopelawn. Interment will follow in the St. Stephen's Cemetery in Keasbey. Visitation hours will be held Sunday from 2 - 5 pm.
