Obituary of Ruth A. Maras

Ruth A. Maras, 80, of Cherry Hill, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023 at the St. Mary's Catholic Home in Cherry Hill. Mrs. Maras was born in Perth Amboy where she lived most of her life to the late Anthony and Matilda Kotlar and had previously lived in Edison before moving to Cherry Hill eighteen years ago. She was employed by the City of Perth Amboy Board of Education as a cafeteria worker for nine years before retiring in 2004. Previously she worked for N.J. Bell in Elizabeth for six years and UPS as a purchasing associate. Ruth was a member of the St, Joan of Arc Church, Marlton N.J., volunteered with the Little Servant Sisters Convent, Cherry Hill N.J. She is survived by her son, Anthony Maras and his fiancé Lori of Philadelphia, PA, her daughter, Jeanine Stapleton and her husband James of Cherry Hill, NJ, her brother, Anthony Kotlar and wife Theresa of Havre De Grace, MD., four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:30 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Followed by a 10:00 am mass in the Good Shepherd Parish - Holy Rosary Church, Hopelawn. Private cremation will follow. Burial of ashes will be in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Fords. Visitation hours will be held Wednesday from 9:00 am till time of Service.
