Obituary of Helen M. Zsamba

Helen M. Zsamba, 101, of Fords, Born Aug. 30, 1921, died Feb. 20, 2023. She passed this life at the age of 101, at the JFK Hartwyck at Cedar Brook in Plainfield where she resided for the last ten years of her life. Mrs. Zsamba was born in Keasbey to the late Andrew and Julia Supko and had lived all of her life in Fords. She was married to Andrew in 1945 and was with him till his death in 1977. They had no children. She was employed by Perth Amboy General Hospital as a registered nurse for almost forty years before retiring in 1975. Helen was exemplary in her practice as a private duty specialty before there were Intensive care Units in Hospitals. She was known for her expertise and devotion to her job. After her retirement she became active in community affairs such as serving as past President of the Fords-Keasbey Senior Citizens Club, 2nd. ward Democratic club Committeewoman. She was a member of Our Lady Of Peace RC Fords and the Rosary Society. Helen enjoyed an active social life and was an asset to all she did for others. she was predeceased by her husband Andrew Ernest Zsamba, one brother Andrew Supko, three sisters Rose Poniatowski, Julia Daton and Margaret Ann Gresh. She is survived by Niece and Goddaughter, Geraldine Yeager, nephew and Godson Thomas Gresh and many other nieces and nephews and friends. A kind generous loving soul who lived a long long life. Her memoty will live on for all who remain. May she rest in God's Loving Care for eternity. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10:00 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Followed by a 10:30 am mass in the Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords. Interment will follow in the Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery in Fords. Visitation hours will be held Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
