Obituary of Helen M. Kurucz

Helen M. Kurucz, 96, a lifelong resident of Hopelawn, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Mrs. Kurucz was a bank teller employed by the First National Bank of Perth Amboy for ten years before retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Parish-Holy Spirit Church of Perth Amboy. Helen was also a member and past treasurer of the Hopelawn VFW Post 1352 VFW Ladies' Auxiliary and a past member of the San Salvador Columbiettes formerly of Perth Amboy. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Andrew J. Kurucz in 2018, her dear daughter Patricia Nesti in 2010 and also by her brother Edward Kovacs. She is survived by her loving son Andrew J. Kurucz Jr. and her two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday 10:30 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, 531 New Brunswick Ave. in Fords. Followed by an 11 am mass in the Good Shepherd Parish-Holy Rosary Church in Hopelawn. Private cremation services will follow. Visitation hours will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
