Aunt Joyce was a welcomed caller at my office. Many times I'd put her on speaker phone so that my co-worker could hear our conversations. She made me laugh so many times and I enjoyed her brand of brutal honesty, and of course,,,, the shocked look I'd get acrossed the desk of those I allowed to benefit from her words of humorous wisdom.
After a while she wouldn't even need to ask for me by name, whomever answered the ring would be met with, "Where's my niece?" and they knew it was my Aunt.
My grandmother always teased me when I was little and would say Elvera was gonna come and get me. Sometimes my aunt would be on the phone and tell me she was gonna tie me to a tree in her backyard to keep me from roaming. For years I didn't know that Aunt Joyce and Elvera were the same person! Lol
Thank you for the many years of understanding, listening and straight verbal asskicking when I needed it. You were a GREAT Aunt in every way and I will truly miss hearing your voice. I loved you more than words can say.- Cinderella
