Obituary of Helen M. Papi
Helen M. Papi, 98, of Edison, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the Roosevelt Care Center in Edison. Mrs. Papi was born in Edison to the late Michael and Julia Dudash and had lived there her whole life. Her beloved father Michael, was one of the first original six police officers in Edison Township and was sadly killed in the line of duty in 1924.
Mrs. Papi was a US Army WAAC Veteran of World War II.
She was a licensed beautician. Helen was the owner/operator of the Four Seasons Beauty Salon on Amboy Ave. in Edison for over fifty years before retiring in 1992.
She was a lifelong member of the Our Lady of Peace RC Church of Fords. She was also a member of the Edison Democratic Club, serving as a Committeewoman for over twenty five years.
She was predeceased by three brothers Michael, John and Joseph Dudash and a sister Margaret Nagy.
Surviving are her four sons: Brent N. Papi Sr. of East Brunswick, David Papi of Edison, Mark Papi also of Edison, and Anthony Papi of Conway, SC, four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services were entrusted to the care of the Mitruska Funeral Home, 531 New Brunswick Ave. Fords.
