Obituary of Joseph Guy Batista

Joseph G. Batista, 53, of Perth Amboy, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Mr. Batista was born in Perth Amboy and had previously lived in Hopelawn before moving back to Perth Amboy fifteen years ago. He was employed as a service writer with the Ambulance Network in Elizabeth for the last six years. Joseph was an Ex Chief and former member of the Hopelawn Engine Co. #1 and Ex Chief and member of the Keasbey Protection Fire Co. #1, and also a member of the United Exempt Fireman's Association of Keasbey, Fords and Hopelawn. He was predeceased by his father Manuel Batista in 1985. He is survived by his mother Myrna Batista of Hopelawn, two brothers, Gary Batista and his wife Eileen of South Amboy, Brian Batista of Mt. Pocono, PA, his sister, Kathleen Pasquale and her husband Bart of Schollet, NC, and several nieces and nephews . Services will be held Thursday 8:30 pm at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Private cremation will follow in the Rosehill Crematory in Linden. Visitation hours will be held Thursday from 4 - 9 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
