Obituary of Margaret Beyczi

Margaret Beyczi, 88, of Sewaren passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at home surrounded by loved ones.

Margaret was many things to many people. She was a sales clerk at Card-O-Rama for twenty-two years before retiring in 1995, a member of the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish - Our Lady of Hungary Church, a member of the OLH Seniors and Fellowship Clubs and the Altar Rosary Society.

Above all else, Margaret was an amazingly loving and kind woman who always had a smile to share. Margaret loved her family more than anything and always cautioned pineapple would give them a bellyache. She loved the NY Giants and could beat anyone at Jeopardy. Margaret would never pass up something sweet, in fact, her last meal was ice cream. She will be missed for many reasons, but one is her sweet notes and stickers.

Margaret has been reunited with her parents, Joseph Matis and Elizabeth Farkas; her brothers, James and Joseph Matis; and her husband, Edward Beyczi. She is survived by her sister, Helen Mazur; her sons, Steven and John Beyczi; and her daughter, Nancy Koken and her husband Jimmy. Also surviving Margaret are her grandchildren - Christina Roberts, Heather and Chris Dowd, Kristin and Kevin Gibson, Jennifer and Bryon Mayo, and Tricia and Benjamin Lewallen - and her great-grandchildren Sarah, Chloe, Bryon, Wyatt, Ashlynn, Tanner, Harper, Colton, and Jackson. Margaret was affectionately known as Aunt Midgie and Muncy to her many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 8:30pm at the Mitruska Funeral Home, 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Private cremation services will follow. Visitation hours will be held Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Autism Speaks or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
