Obituary of George J. Williams Jr.

George J. Williams, Jr., 67, of Colonia, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at his home. Mr. Williams was born in Plainfield to the late George J. and Julia McCaskill Williams Sr. and had previously lived in Garwood before moving to Colonia forty five years ago.

He was employed as a Diesel mechanic with Linden Bulk in Linden for six years before retiring in 2013. George previously work for Ancker Motor Freight in Linden and Trotlines in Woodbridge. He was a member of Avenel Fire Company serving as a former Lieutenant and Chief Engineer. George was predeceased by a brother Robert Williams.

He is survived by his four daughters, Heather Williams of Bayonne, Danielle Dowd and her husband Walter of Iselin, Melissa Grillo and her husband of Great Meadows, Megan Williams of Little Ferry and three grandchildren and three step grandchildren.
